Non-corporate financial statements, built from the notes up.

BalanceRow is software for CAs and accountants. Enter each note to accounts once, and the balance sheet and profit and loss follow, in the format from ICAI's Guidance Note on Financial Statements of Non-Corporate Entities.

One set of figures, three places it has to be right.

Preparing these statements often means re-keying numbers between the notes, the balance sheet and the profit and loss, then checking that all three still agree. BalanceRow keeps the notes as the single source and builds the statements from them.

  1. 1

    Add the client

Choose the entity type and financial year. The workspace adapts to the entity.

  2. 2

    Fill in the notes

Work through the 25 notes to accounts. Their totals flow into the statements automatically.

  3. 3

    Read the statements

The balance sheet shows whether it balances. The profit and loss feeds each owner's share in the capital account.

Where the time goes

  • Each figure is entered once, in its note. The statements read from the notes.
  • Totals, the balance check and each owner's share of profit are calculated for you.
  • The structure and numbering of the Guidance Note are built in, so there is no template to copy and renumber for every client.
  • Defaults follow the entity type.

Add each client once.

Set up a client with its entity type and financial year. Each client keeps its own statements and notes for every year, and you switch between clients from the sidebar.

All 25 notes to accounts, in one place.

Each client has the balance sheet, the profit and loss and every note in a single workspace. The notes sit in one list in the Guidance Note's order. Open one to edit it, mark it done when you finish, and a progress bar shows how much is left.

The statements update as the notes change, so you can move between a note and the statement it feeds without losing your place.

One note up close: the owners' capital account.

Note 3 follows the capital account matrix: opening balance, capital introduced, remuneration, interest, withdrawals, share of profit and closing balance for each owner, with the previous year as one row.

Share of profit comes from the profit and loss, and the closing balance feeds the balance sheet. The note adapts to the entity, with proprietor or partner rows.
